[Bristol-Birds] Vesper Sparrows and Osprey on the Levisa River

Bristol Birders,

As Michelle and I were getting breakfast ready I glanced out our back window
and noted a
couple of new sparrows among the Song, Chipping, and Field Sparrows in the back
yard.
They had bright white eye rings, flesh colored legs, light bills, and light
streaking
along the sides. We suspected Vesper Sparrows and look through the binoculars
and a quick
check of Sibley's confirmed this for us. This was a new state bird as well as
a yard bird
for us. Here is a link to some video captures I made of the sparrows:

As Michelle was leaving for work she yelled back into the house that we had an
Osprey
flying down the river. I made a quick hike down the river but only got a few
seconds of
long-distance video of the Osprey. I also found a Great Blue Heron about half
way up the
mountain being harassed by a Crow. I looked for some evidence of a nest but
did not see
anything. I'll have to search that area better this week. I also jumped two
Wood Ducks
off the river.
