Bristol Area  Birders,
Paw Paw gap a reclaimed strip site and Caney Island Branch were the areas
birded here in Buchanan Co. today, by Bob Riggs, president of the Russell
Co. Bird Club, Ed Talbott, vice president of the Buchanan Co. Bird Club and
myself, Roger Mayhorn. With a temperature of 50F and in spite of a brisk
wind birds were  out in numbers. The two most noted were a female Cerulean
and a male Golden-winged on the strip site, and the Lawrence's, and two
Blue-winged Warblers which had been previously located by Michelle Talbott,
a Buchanan Co. club member. The male Lawrence's and a male Blue-winged gave
us a great show when they fought from 12ft. in the air to very near the
flowing stream below. The Lawrence's won the battle so we are hoping he is
establishing a territory and future nesting site. Following is the complete
