The Bristol Bird Club had an excellent program tonight (Mar 18th)
on the subject of digital cameras and digital photography.  It was
presented by Charlie Foster, a local photographer.  

Charlie provided a really comprehensive look at the technical aspects
of digital cameras and related equipment, much to the enjoyment of a
number of our region's top bird photographers.

Everyone's mind's and eyes were popped wide open to his vast resources
and experience as well as the enormously expensive equipment.

His talent was not limited to identification of birds nor simply getting
excellent close up photos of birds seen here and there as so popular in
the hobby.  He had an amazing eye and ability to capture and present 
what is perhaps the best "artistic" and amazing action shots of birds any
of us have seen at a bird club presentation.

Thanks to Charlie for a really neat program.  How could we have ever
dreamed of seeing a program of this great knowledge, skill, creativity
and art ?

In other business, Worley appointed a nominating committee of:
Rob Biller, Bill Grigsby, Wallace Coffey (chair), Janice Martin and
Dave Worley to nominate officers for 2008-2009.

President Dave Worley took orders for new club shirts
with the original Bald Eagle emblems embroidered over
the pocket.  The club had 25 shirts ordered.  If you
wish to order a club shirt e-mail Dave Worley and make
sure he gets your order.  The shirts might be delivered
in time for the April meeting.  This is at least the second
if not third shirt design for the club.  We have taken orders
several times since the spring of 2000.
