Went out to scan around 5 pm. (3/3/06) and got a few nice surprises:
Pied-billed Grebe - 4
Double-crested Cormorant - 12 (they're roosting under the Herons at night)
Great Blue Heronry - the competition has begun as the males appear to be
defending their territories; 7 GBH in heronry, several along the banks
Canada Geese
Mallard - 5 pairs
American Black Duck - 6
Northern Pintail - 2 males, 2 females
Gadwall - 8
American Wigeon - 6
Blue-winged Teal - 2
Lesser Scaup - 1 pair
Ring-necked Duck - 1
Ring-billed Gulls 25+
Tree Swallows everywhere
