[Bristol-Birds] Pond Ducks and Others

On Wednesday, March 9, Wallace Coffey and I visited several ponds and small
lakes in Washington/Russell/Smyth Counties. Sorry this is late.
Nicewonder Pond (Washington Co.)
Ring-necked duck: 10
Canada Goose: 19
Mute Swan: 6
Am. Widgeon 5
Clear Creek Lake (Washington Co.)
Am. Coot: 32
Canada Goose: 17 and one hybird
Ring-billed Gulls: 7
Hooded Merganser: 8
Black-crowned Night Herons: 2
Pied-billed Grebe: 2
Ostrich Farm/Black Hollow Rd(Washington Co.)
Mallard Duck: 4
Canada Goose: 4
Hidden Valley Lake (Washington Co.)
Ring-necked Duck (Immature male): 1
It was 21 degrees and 3 inches of snow, but some open water.
Stewart Pond(Russell Co.) (Elk Garden)
Mallard Duck: 3
Canada Goose: 2
Possible Merlin quickly flying out of site
Stewart Pond(Rosedale)
Canada Goose: 16
Great-blue Heron: 1
Mallard Duck: 2
Also spotted a Phoebe and Yellow-rumped Warbler
Saltville Ponds (Smyth Co.)
Gadwall: 2
Mallard Duck: 2
Am. Coot: 6
Lesser Scalp: 1
