I had two common snipe on Saturday at about 5 p.m. in the small marshy area
where Sullivan Gardens Drive intersects Sullivan Gardens Parkway (Rt. 93) just
north of the parkway's intersection with Lonestar Drive (TN 347). A small
paved strip goes part of the way into the marsh from Sullivan Gardens Drive and
makes finding the birds relatively simple. John Moyle Glen Alpine Road

A one-half hour walk on Friday along the Green Way west from Wright's Country
Cafeteria to a horse farm was rather interesting: great blue heron, mallard,
pileated woodpecker, killdeer, brown thrasher, American robins, Carolina
wren, downy woodpecker, song sparrow, white-throated sparrow, common grackles,
Carolina chickadee, American crow, mourning dove, tufted titmouse, ncardinal,
house sparrow, European starling, blue jay, eastern bluebird, yellow-shafted
flicker and northern mockingbird.....all tucked in behind the river and the
stores
or in the horse farm fields.
