     The Herndon Chapter TOS will hold its annual banquet Saturday, March 27. 
 The buffet style meal will begin at 5:30 pm at Stringers Restaurant in 
Elizabethton TN. Forgive me for not remembering the exact price of the meal, 
but it 
should be approximately $8 for all you can eat.  At 6:30 Chris Sloan will 
present a program on hummingbirds featuring results of his banding efforts in 
Tennessee.  Also, drawings will be held for hummer related door prizes.
     Chris will be arriving in the area late Friday night, and staying in 
Burbank.  He has hopes of observing Ruffed Grouse and Saw-whet Owls on Roan 
Mtn.  
Anyone who wishes to join in this pursuit may meet with us at the big green 
waterwheel at the Visitors Center in Roan Mtn. State Park at 8:00 am Saturday.
     After the program Saturday evening, possibilities for a post-banquet 
birding excursion will be explored.  Any questions may be directed to me at
