Laurel Lake produced a pr. of American Widgeon, 1 Blue-winged Teal , several
Wood Ducks & 1 Canada Goose thats been dividing time with the ponds at Willow
Brook C C & Laurel Lake for the last 3 wks. No swallows but I observed a Red
Bat flying over the lake. A pleasant surprise was a singing Veery on the ridge
above the Beaver Pond. This is an early record for my 25 yrs. of birding this
area! These observations were made on 3/25 p.m. On p.m. of 3/24 I saw my first
Black Vulture of the season.
good birding,
Dave Raines
