After being frozen over for the months of Jan & Feb, Rural Retreat
Lake is beginning to show signs of its old self.  On Sat (Mar 1)
Allen Boynton & Katherine Higgins found: Canvasback, Redhead, Mallard,
Ring-neck Ducks and Canada Geese.  On Monday (Mar 3), I found the
above plus Pintails.  I also had 11 Ring-bill Gulls and 1 Harrier.
Meadowlarks, Red-wing Blackbirds & Grackles were abundant.  Maybe we
will begin seeing all these birds that were so hard to find during
the cold winter months we jusy went through.
