        Sorry about that - yes I did mean Tree Swallows.  They were
certainly investigating the nesting cavities in the swallow boxes if
not actually building nests.

Did you mean to write Tree Swallows building nests?  Your date is
very
early, but Tree Sparrows nesting in Southwest Virginia would be a
fantastic
record.
