Hey Rick,

I was at the Netherlands Inn Rd. colony in Kingsport 
Tuesday and didn't find any either.  Stopped by the rookery
below Patrick Henry Dam.  Counted 42 nests from past seasons but
no birds present.  Birded on down the bends of the Holston to Rogersville.
At Phipps Bend the small rookery there was not active either and there
were few nests so I don't know if it has been abandoned.  On Boone
Lake found two or three nest on the island rookery south of the
mouth of Muddy Creek, just downstream from DeVault Bridge.  
No birds there either.

The Bald Eagle nest found last summer  about a half mile from Horton's Ford 
on the Clinch River in Hancock County , TN did not
have eagles present.  The nest is in great shape.  I could imagine
that I saw some new nesting material on top.   It might still be 
a bit early.
