[Bristol-Birds] Burkes Garden

The Russell County Bird Club was represented by Tom & Laverne Hunter, Fred &
Janice Martin, Bob & Jean Montgomery, Dave & Diana Worley and Diana Singleton
as we birded the Tazewell County Valley.
We got 39 species, including 5 Rough-legged Hawks, 5 Golden Eagles, 14
Red-tailed Hawks, 1 Northern Harrier, 3 Am. Kestrels, 8 Ravens, 1 Loggerhead
Shrike, 12 Green-winged Teal and 2 Pileated Woodpeckers.
Some of the Rough-legged and Red-tailed Hawks were extremely close and put on a
great show.
We met other birders from Winchester, Charlottesville and Fincastle as we
lavished in the beautiful sunshine and 25 degree weather.
Hope next week is as great for the Bristol Bird Club as today.
