    Claytor Lake State Park and on the New river in the Radford area,         
                                                       Birds seen:            
                                                                              
                                      Redhead-3, Ruddy Duck-4, Gadwall-4, 
Black Duck-2, Ring-Necked Duck-8, Lesser Scaup-9,                     Hooded 
Merganser-7, Common Loon-2, Coot-5, Bufflehead-42, P.B. Grebe-6, Canada Geese,  
   
               Ring-Billed Gulls, Mallard-80, Eastern Phoebe-1, 
Robin-1,Killdeer-1.  Several other waterfowl  were seen at the bottom of dam, 
yet due to 
decreasing light and distance little or no detail could be seen with spotting 
scope available. A good day of birding although quite cold and breezy.
