The following is a list of highlights at our home on Glen Alpine Road. The
Numbers for common birds are the high #s of individuals for the month which
occurred on that day. If no number is given, the number is one.
01/02 - Golden-crowned Kinglet, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Ruby-crowned Kinglet.
01/04 - Mourning Dove (67).
01/05 - Ruby-crowned Kinglet.
01/06 - Cooper's Hawk, Mallard (2).
01/07 - FOX SPARROW, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Northern Cardinal (15).
01/08 - White-throated Sparrow (10).
01/14 - Eastern Phoebe, Golden-crowned Kinglet.
01/15 - Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Belted Kingfisher, Common Grackle (4),
Great
Blue Heron, Eastern Phoebe, Brown Creeper, Northern Bobwhite (heard).
01/18 - Golden-crowned Kinglet, European Starling (150-200), Red-winged
Blackbird
(3 males), Northern Bobwhite (heard).
01/19 Hermit Thrush.
01/20 Red-shouldered Hawk, Golden-crowned Kinglet.
01/21 - Dark-eyed Junco (26), Brown Creeper.
01/22 - American Robin (53), Golden-crowned Kinglet.
01/23 - Chipping Sparrow (50).
01/25 - Cooper's Hawk.
01/27 - Field Sparrow (15).
01/29 - Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Killdeer (5).
01/31 - American Goldfinch (39), Song Sparrow (15), Swamp Sparrow (12-15),
Carolina Wren (10+).
