Bristol Area Birders:
Three recent photos have just been put up on:
BRISTOL BIRDS NET LIST
Bristol Birds Net Photo Gallery located at:
http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/jwcoffeyy/album?.dir=/efd5
In the upper left corner you will see two photos of the first Steele Creek Park
record of a Cackling Goose, found at the park and photographed February 3-4.
2005 by park naturalist Kevin Elam. The park and lake are located in Bristol,
TN.
The third photo across the top row is look down into the grain hopper at the
DeBusk Farm at DeBusk Mill in Washington County, Va. where, on January 2, 2005,
Wallace Coffey, Andy Jones and Chris O'Bryan found a winter nest of a Barn Owl.
Chris O'Bryan and a farm owner climbed a 30-foot metal food storage hopper and
discover a pair of Barn Owls which had a winter nest with three young. O'Bryan
made a number of photographs of the birds at the DeBusk Mill site. Due to the
depth and darkness in the hopper, it was hard to get a good photo of the young.
If you are able to enlarge the photo on the Bristol Birds Net Photo Gallery
page, you will see one of the young birds in the very bottom of the bin.
Let's go birding....
