[Bristol-Birds] Northern Shoveler

Early this afternoon I spotted a female Northern Shoveler feeding with five
Gadwalls at a small pond located on Countiss Road, Washington County, VA. There
were also two Mallards on the pond. I went back again around 4:30 p.m. but
they were gone. A lone Killdeer was feeding along the shoreline of a nearby
pond, and a cold looking Eastern Phoebe, despite the heavy snow falling, was
still hunting from a small bush at the edge.
At the Nicewonder Pond, Exit 10, I-81, I could see nine Ring-necked Ducks
through the snowfall, doing their usual: taking turns diving under the water.
May all your birds be wild.
