[Bristol-Birds] Cooper's Hawk takes pigeon

Bristol Birders,

I was on my computer this morning when I heard a loud thump
against the side of the house and saw some feathers floating in
the air outside my 2nd story window. A few seconds later I saw
what was probably a Cooper's Hawk carrying a pigeon across my
yard - flying but unable to gain any altitude. It flew through a
fence and dropped down to the river, flying just above the water
until it disappeared out of sight. It must have driven the
pigeon off my feeders and into the side of the house in pursuit.
It was a strange sight to see this small raptor carrying such a
large bird and barely being able to fly with it.
