Area Birders:

The family of Nelle Mae Jenkins will receive friends Tuesday,  Feb. 3, from
5 until 7 p.m. in the Shady Valley Presbyterian Church, located at the
intersection of U.S. 421, Orchard Road and Winchester Road.  Funeral
services will follow visitation, starting at 7 p.m.

A private, family,  graveside service will be held Wednesday morning.  The
family will have a luncheon for friends and relatives at the Shady Valley
Presbyterian Church Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.

Pallbearers serving the family will be:  John Shumate, Jr.,  Greg Jenkins,
Jeff Jenkins, Norman Taylor, Jim Eller and Wallace Coffey.

Mrs. Jenkins, 95, of Shady Valley,  passed away this morning at Sycamore
Shoals Hospital.

She and her husband sold their family cranberry bog to The Nature
Conservancy in August 1979.  It was the first state project of the Tennessee
Chapter of The Nature Conservancy. 

She is grandmother of  Lorrie Shumate of Shady Valley.  Lorri, and her
husband John, are members of the Bristol Bird Club and have been members
for nearly 15 years.
