[bristol-birds] Barred Owl release

On Friday evening, February 8, I was privileged to be
a witness to a great event. We witnessed the release
back into the wild of a rehabilitated Barred Owl.
Present were Tom and Laverne Hunter, Bob & Jean
Montgomery, and Bob & Diana Riggs. The young male
Barred Owl was released in Russell County near the
spot where it was found with an injured wing. We were
able to watch it sit for a few minutes on the initial
perch and then work its way back through the woods
until it was too dark to see.
