The Bristol Bird Club's first field trip of 2008 will be a day trip to
Hiwassee, TN. We can expect to see thousands of Sandhill Cranes, a few
Whooping
Cranes and an assortment of waterfowl probably including Snow Geese and several
wintering duck species. It is truly quite a spectacle! The Hiwasseerefuge
is near Chattanooga. We plan to meet in Kingsport at the Ingle's parking lot
in Colonial Heights on Patrick Henry Drive just off I 81. I will provide
directions from Ingle's to the refuge. We will carpool there and return by 6
or
6:30 p.m. Bring a lunch and dress according to the the weather reports on
Friday, Jan. 18. If bad weather is forecast, I will post a travel decision on
email early Friday evening. If you have any additional questions, feel free to
email me at jpmoyle18@xxxxxxx John Moyle
