I spent the afternoon on New Year's Day in Gate City, VA, just north of
Kingsport, TN. I heard 1, possibly 2, Evening Grosbeaks overhead on the
North Fork of the Holston River. I did not see them, but the sound stirred
more hopes of winter finches. I have not again seen the individual that
came
to my feeder Christmas Day, but my hours at home have been very limited.
Get out and enjoy the birds.
