Hey, that reminds me... Dianne Draper and I were eating supper at Riverfront
Restaurant in Kingsport last Wednesday 24 JAN 2007. It was dark out, but
through the window we saw five Black-crowned Night Herons fly downstream
through the illuminated area on the river next to the restaurant. Good dining,
good birding...maybe we should plan a bird club field trip to Riverfront.

Subject: [Bristol-Birds] Spotted Sandpiper at Kingsport

I checked this morning (Jan 27) in a spot where I had an overwintering Spotted
Sandpiper last year. Sure enough, as soon as I stepped from the car and walked
over to the riverbank a Spotted Sandpiper flew from the shoreline and across to
the other side of the river. This location is at the Riverfront Restaurant
along Netherland Inn Road along the bank of the S. Fork Holston River between
the restaurant and where I-26 passes overhead, Sullivan Co, Kingsport, TN.
