Washington Co., TN--Limestone and environs
Alerted by Don Holt's post of yesterday regarding birds seen in Washington
County, I spent about two hours in Limestone this morning. Results were
similar to what the group from yesterday reported, with the notable difference
that I did not find a Ross's Goose today. Here's an abbreviated list from my
outing:
Snow Goose (at the pond on Highway 75 about 1.3 miles north of Highway 11-E
where the bird was seen yesterday)
Canada Goose (21)
Mallard (33)
Blue-winged Teal (on Bush Hog Boulevard)
Green-winged Teal (3 on Bush Hog Boulevard)
Hooded Merganser (7 at the pond with the Snow Goose)
Wild Turkey (12)
Great Blue Heron (4)
American Kestrel (5)
Wilson's Snipe (4 on Bush Hog Boulevard)
Eurasian Collared-Dove (at 145 Smithdale Boulevard East, in Limestone)
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
Loggerhead Shrike (on Bush Hog Boulevard)
White-crowned Sparrow (7)
Dark-eyed Junco (57 in a flock on John Carson Road)
Eastern Meadowlark (31)
