On Dec 13 (not the 18th) between 1 and 2 pm I observed a Nashville warbler
snatching insects most dead ,some alive from my gigantic climbing rose bush
outside my den window. It would flitter around and land on a limb and snatch
leaves and insects from above where it was sitting. It looked just like the
book- yellow from bill down with white belly, grey head ,white eye ring.,
greenish back brownish wings and tail with no markings. I was spell bound!!!
This morning an adult red shouldered hawk picked off one of the pigeons
feeding under the feeder. All the birds scattered when they sensed the hawk
but this one pigeon flew the wrong way. I swear that hawk looked up at me in
the window with his pigeon in his mouth before he flew over my fence to enjoy
his feast. (about 9:30am)
I am really enjoying this feeder watch. Sybil Williams
