Area Birders,
Today My wife and I birded Compton Mt Ridge and a section of abandoned railroad
near Whitewood VA. Along the ridge we found Eastern Bluebirds, Mourning Doves,
crows and cardinals.
Along the railroad bed we found Field, Song and Swamp Sparrows. We also got
both Ruby-crowned and Golden-crowned Kinglets. We heard a Pileated Woodpecker
in the distance, and a Belted Kingfisher flew up the Dismal river.

Enjoy the birds,

Roger Mayhorn
