I've been negligent in posting my sitings along the river. I have adopted it
as a regular site to survey. On 1/24 I saw an immature bald eagle for the
third time in the vicinity of the Eastman plant. On 1/26 in Rotherwood
Estates,
I counted about 200 black vultures on the ground and in trees along the
river. At the same time a kettle of 30+ vultures (mix of black and turkey) was
circling to the north. On the same day, in the vicinity of the Netherland Inn,
I
recorded 3 coots, 5 dc cormorants, about a dozen mallards and 50 Canada
geese. Closer to Wilcox Blvd, I counted 15 gadwall, 7 hooded mergansers and
about
20 mallards. I also had a red-shouldered hawk (1/23) in my yard and two
Coopers hawks circling over our yard (1/26).
