The Bristol Bird Club will be having a field trip to western
Washington County, TN on Saturday, 1/24/04. We will meet at
the Ingles Grocery parking lot,(near the road), just west of
Jonesboro on Hwy. 11E at 8 AM. Larry McDaniel will lead the
group to some of the recent birding hot spots near
Limestone. Recent sightings have included LAPLAND LONGSPURS,
Perigrine Falcon, Merlin, Northern Harriers, Red-headed
Woodpeckers, Horned Larks, American Pipits, Loggerhead
Shrike, and Savanah Sparrows. New reports of waterfowl in
the vicinity include Redheads, Pintail and Green-winged
Teal. Who knows what we might find. We might also go to some
of the birding hot spots in eastern Greene County. Anyone
reading this is invited.
