Birders,
               Today (12th) I spotted over forty (40) Red-winged
Blackbirds
of both sexes in a Red Maple off of Highway 133, Crandull, Shady Valley, 
Johnson County, TN.  This bird is an uncommon winter resident with no
Jan.
records that I know of. I went on a two hour "bird-mountain-bike-trip"
all over the Crandull area here in Shady Valley and I found,
1.American Crow~10

2.Carolina Chickadee~3

3.European Starling~35

4.Northern Cardinal~5

5.Song Sparrow~3

6.White-throated Sparrow~5
 
7.Red-winged Blackbird~40

8.American goldfinch~5

Today was not the best day for bird watching but it was a beautiful
day!!!
