The following is the unofficial report of the Bristol Christmas Bird
Count conducted 29 Dec 2002.

84 species = ~ recent  average. 
Last year = 84
Previous count record = 89.
No new count species. 
Three parties had 60 species each. 

NOTABLE SPECIES:  Eared Grebe 1, Double-crested Cormorant 1, 
Black-crowned Night-Heron 1, Common Goldeneye 1, Greater Scaup 1,
Bald Eagle 1, Merlin 1, Ruffed Grouse 1, Barn Owl 1,
RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD 1 (banded), Common Raven 3, 
Brown Thrasher 1,  American Pipit 90, Palm Warbler 1, Savannah 
Sparrow 1.

EXCEPTIONAL NUMBERS: Bufflehead 283,  Hooded Merganser 208,
Black Vulture 136,  Turkey Vulture 253, White-breasted Nuthatch 74,
Carolina Wren 120, Northern Mockingbird 160, American Pipit 90.

INTERESTING SPECIES:  Horned Grebe, American Black Duck,
Ring-necked Duck 53, Galdwall, Lesser Scaup, American Wigeon,
Red-shouldered Hawk 1, Bonaparte's Gull 6, Ring-billed Gulls 598,
Eastern Screech Owl 7, Great Horned Owl 7,  Brown Creeper 7,
Winter Wren 6, Ruby-crowned Kinglet 3, American Robin 87, Hermit
Thrush 4, Cedar Waxwing 14,  Yellow-rumped Warbler 49, Field
Sparrow 48, Fox Sparrow 2, Swamp Sparrow 8, Common Grackle 3.
