Area Birders:

I talked on the phone a few minutes ago with Mike Johnson,
Director of Leisure Services for the City of Bristol Tennessee
(parks & recreation director),  and he said access will be
available daily to search for and observe the Trumpter Swan
which was found yesterday at White Top Creek Park (formerly
known as the Multi-Sport Complex) near the speedway in
Bristol..

Mike said the gates are scheduled to be open daily during
the recreation off season with opening at 9:00 a.m. and
closing at 5:00 p.m.

He said that if the gates are not open right at 9:00 a.m. each
day a crew should arrive shortly and you might wait or check
back in a few minutes.

His office had already been notified earlier this morning by
e-mail that the swan had been found yesterday and said he
had sent a copy to Kevin Hamed who is a naturalist with the
city and is manager of the Steele Creek Park Nature Center.
