[blindipod] Re: Is J-Tunes really worth $75?

Oh you joking! I mean, we can't purchase J-Tunes online! That is ridiculous! Anyway enough of my ranting. I think for you Hannah, the only time you'll want to use iTunes is to update your Ipod with your new music collection, but then again, with the many powerful things iTunes can do you may want to explore more, but unless you can put up with the message that the demonstration has expired and the fact a reboot is required before the scripts will shut up, as it were, just use iTunes to update your Ipod. Good luck.

iPod Classic is basically identical to the video iPods from the last two years, but the sizes are different (80 GB or 160 GB).

After the ten minutes is up J-Tunes constantly says that the demonstration has expired. I uninstaled it since I don't think you can stop the message without restarting your computer. Can I do everything that J-Tunes does with the jaws cursor? I'm surprised J-Tunes can't be purchased online.

It also won't work with the newer iPods and often by the time Rockbox has been developed you have to search Ebay or some other awction site for a compatible player. I do like the Rockbox idea but I think if I wanted a talking player that bad I'd make do with an 8GB card for my phone and use that more.

I just received a 160GB iPod Classic for christmas to replace my old 60GB iPod which was having hard drive issues.

If a script were like $20 or even $30, I'd definitely pay, but $75 seems kinda ridiculous. How much does the script help with using the music store?

Also, do most people use Rockbox or just the standard iPod firmware? I'd like it if I could get speech on the iPod, but I don't know if I want to mess around with modifying the firmware. Also, I've heard it can't play stuff from the iTunes store and audiobooks.

Thanks in advance.
