Hi Margaret,
If you've checked for updates and are being told there aren't any, I
guess you're set. I don't know why the numbers would be different,
but I do know I see different numbers in creative Media Lite than
when I'm in the middle of checking for an update. So I wouldn't worry
about it; just check for updates occasionally. I am talking about the
1 GB Zen Stone, and I'm in the U.S. Sorry this has been so
frustrating and time-consuming.
Regards,
Anna

Anna,
I checked for updates for my 1 GB Zen Stone and, if I didn't mess up,
the Creative web site said there were none. Creative Media Lite says
ZEN Stone Software Version 1.06.01
I'll have to check and see if I have the latest version of Creative
Media Lite. I think I have 1.0.1.0, but JAWS 7.1 says it so fast
that I'm not getting it. I've spent hours on this and am punchy and need a
break.
Just to possibly eliminate a couple of variables, are you talking about
the 1 GB Zen Stone or the Zen Stone Plus? Are you in the U. S.?
Thanks,
Margaret

Hi,
Sometime recently there was a Zen Stone update that is quite useful.
The update is to version 1.10.08. This version also updates Creative
Media Lite to, if JAWS is reporting the information correctly, version
1.0.1.0.
The two advantages of the update that I have noticed are as follows:
When I press Play, playback starts in about 7 seconds instead of 20.
Checking for updates requires one fewer screen. You do the original
command to check for updates, confirm that the Stone is what you want
to update, and it checks. The documentation also says bugs have been
fixed, making the player more stable. Brian Hartgen's JAWS scripts
work with the new version of Creative Media Lite and JAWS 9 on my XP
Professional, SP2 machine.
Cheers,
Anna
