you could I believe also use Annapod for this. This would also provide an
accessible solution. I don't know if the Rebuild tool works, but that would
not allow playback of the books from Audible anyway.
Cheers

Subject: [blindipod] Re: Anybody using the new Shuffle?
Hi Andy,
I have the new Apple ipod shuffle. As i have Jaws 8.0, and the new shuffle
requires Itunes version 7 for it to work. As noone as yet produced
satisfactory Jaws scripts for version 7 of Itunes, which will work with Jaws
8.0, my wife has downloaded and installed Itunes 7 from Apple to the
computer and then set up a play list of books purchased from Audible.co.uk.
Have copied 4 books at present onto the ipod, and all i then had to do was
switch it onand press the middle of the circle to play, press it again to
pause, and as we chose format 4 for all the books purchased, it keeps it's
place well after switching it off and then later switching it back on and
playing the book from where you left it. I'm highly satisfied with it's
performance. Although i've not yet tried to move from book to book with the
forward and back rim controls of the circle.
Hope this helps,
Michael Brown.

Hi all -
I'm not very gadget vigilant, so sorry if I'm the last to become aware of
the new Shuffle, but I'm interested to know if anybody is using it, and if
they can confirm it is just as accessible as the old Shuffle. This new
Shuffle will apparently play Audible formats 2-4.
For those that haven't seen it, here's what I have read:
Apple iPod Shuffle Goes Micro
Gabriel Vega - Thursday, November 2nd, 2006 | 8:03AM (PST)
A new $79 price-tag, smaller size and even more style.
While many thought the
iPod Shuffle
was small as is,
Apple
seems to think otherwise as they now bring fourth the newest in micro MP3
players with the revised iPod Shuffle weighing in at half an ounce, 1.65
inches
in length 1GB of Storage (240 songs estimated by apple) and 12 hours of
battery life. The new style lends to the idea of clip and go, be it in your
jacket,
on your belt, acting as a belt, in your backpack and pretty much anything
else you might be daring enough to attach it to. With an anodized aluminum
body
it joins the Nano in portable style.
