If anyone helps you with this problem, I would love to know the solution as 
well.  I, too have a second generation shuffle.  I can connect it to iTunes 
just fine, but cannot successfully use Anapod Explorer.  Nor can I find the 
iPod tab that's supposedly in the menus and that allegedly contains the check 
box that allows one to enable diskuse mode.  Does anyone have any ideas?
