Hi all,

I have been playing with the best way to get NonAudible books onto muy Ipod Shuffle.

I will describe two sorts of books, those already in MP3 format and those on CD.

MP3 books
Depending upon how large your mp3 files are, you might want to join them into larger ones.
To join files I am currently using mp3/mpeg joiner. It is very accessible.

1. Join the mp3 files into larger files if wanted. The advantage of this is that you have a smaller number of files that will finally be transferred to the ipod.
2. Import these files into ITunes.
3. Use the Get Info option to put in correct information about the book (I include a number as the last part of the title 01 etc.). Putting a number as the last part of the title ensures that they will be transferred in sequence. Also under the options tab you need to check the resume box.
4. Transfer these files to your shuffle.

CD books
I rip CDs into MP3 format. I can then use these files if I want to play your transfer them outside of ITunes.

1. Place the CD into the tray and wait for ITunes to recognize it. You will probably have to use the Get Info option to insert information about the book. Append the title of the book with a number (01 etc) for the given CD. I use this method of naming so that the files will be transferred in sequence.
2. Highlight all the tracks on the CD.
3. Go to advanced on the menu and then chooce join all tracks.
4. Import the CD into Itunes. When this is done, you will have one file with all tracks on it.
5. Use the Get Info option/options and check the resume box.
6. Transfer the file to your ipod.

I hope this helps.

Ron
