Hi Scott
First of all dealing with iTunes, you can use the screen resolution you want
if all you are interested in is transferring material to the shuffle. The
specified screen resolution is only necessary if you want to use some of the
features of iTunes as a standalone player. For example, if you wanted to
move forward or back within a track, you will need that resolution, or if
you want to purchase tracks from the music store.
When writing scripts, I will only work with specific screen resolutions or
with graphics only if I have to, as there are so many problems associated
with them. So most of the functionality of the scripts is not screen
resolution dependent.
In terms of using the Shuffle itself, others may feel differently about this
but I personally prefer using the iRiver for music due to its folder
navigation. If you felt like it and if you have a sound editor, you could
even place a file at the start of each folder containing your voice
identifying the artist and album nane. When you navigate through the folders
using the iRiver, you are then not reliant upon your own memory in
identifying the album.
I used to use the iPod Shuffle for listening to Audible books. But since I
have had the PAC Mate, I use that instead, since in my view, the PAC Mate
contains the most accessible Audible player available. It is just so easy
to move through books and set bookmarks etc. But I have had good results
using the shuffle with Audible books.
I hope that helps.
