Hi Brian,

I don't know why you'd be getting corrupt AAC files from iTunes. I've always had good luck with them. iTunes 7 has a Run Diagnostics option near the bottom of the Help menu. You might try that. I've never used it, so I don't know how accessible it is, but maybe it would help repair a file if it's corrupted or some such. There's also a topic called "My imported songs don't sound right" in iTunes help. I haven't read this topic, but in general I've found iTunes help to be quite good. Good luck.
