FreeLists / blindipod / [blindipod] shuffle software installation problem

Hi,

I've just bought a shuffle and seem to be having an inordinate amount of 
difficulty in installing the IPOD software on my Windows XP home/sp2 PC.
When I get to the point where you enter the serial number of the IPOD it just 
beeps every time I type a character (I've checked that the 11 char serial no on 
the back of the IPOD is correct).
Viewing the screen in Jaws cursor mode I can't find the data entry field on the 
screen which is strange.  I've tried turning Jaws off and using Narrator but 
with no difference.
Has anyone come across this problem before and found a way around it?

Looking on the software CD I was suprised to find both the manuals for the NANO 
and IPOD but nothing for the shuffle has anyone come across this before, is 
there an electronic manual for the shuffle?
