Really? What version. The older version of espeak used gpl v2.
So I really doubt the license is a real issue here.
Your not on the dev list? Or you haven't been on irc? Otherwise you
would know that is what is stopping espeak from been ported to rb.
more problematic may be the power of a DAP CPU to run a speech engine.
still Espeak is very low on power requirement.
Currently it doesn't run on the h300 and lots of other players. I think
the newer players (like the tusheba) with plenty of ram will be fine. I
know it works on the sansa.
I suggest you do the following:
1. Log on to irc and find out about it before you comment on it.
2. Read about the task in the tracker and the comments (FS#7660)
3. Sign up to the development list and see what info you can get.
I think aliask emailed the author but he hasn't said much about it to
me. Actually I will ask him next time I see him online.
