[blindipod] IPOD Nano Resume and Rockbox questions

Hi,
I'm new to this list and have some questions about resuming audio files and
installing Rockbox.
1. Resume fails after computer connection.
If I'm playing an audio file with my Nano and pressing pause or stop playback
and later turn my Nano on, playback starts at the point I was stopped
listening. That is exactly what I want, because I mostly listen to audiobooks
in MP3 formatted files, that I copied from a Daisy CD.
But after I connected the IPod Nano to the USB port of my computer to recharge
the battery the Ipod Nano starts playing the first file, instead of resuming.
That is very fustrating. Is this typical for Nano, or do I something wrong?
2. Rockbox
Because I want to install Rockbox on my IPod Nano I bought a first generation.
After reading the documentation I still have some questions:
2. In the list archive I read, that you can still boot the IPod in apple
firmware. I thought apple firmware was replaced by Rockbox firmware and that
you have to restore the original Apple firmware.
QUOTE
command to restore your iPod to its original state:
ipodpatcher -w N bootpartition.bin
end quote
Is it possible to boot in the Apple firmware and is the above command a kind of
remove of the Rockbox firmware?
3. Ipod software on my computer
Do still need the IPod software I installed on my computer, if I do not
planning to boot in Apple firmware?
4. Can I connect a rockbox enabled IPod to any computer and copy files to it,
like I can do with most non IPod MP3 players?
5. Does rockbox has effect on battery charging?
6. Does Rockbox have resume feature, also after charging the battery through
USB connection with the PC.
