I kind of guessed that was the problem Ian, but where on earth do I find
that folder?

I had this problem and got round it by deleting the Itunes library folder.
However, I have to say that it was a few weeks ago and I have forgotten
the
details by now. If you can find that folder and delete it and do a
reinstall
of the Itunes version you want, you should be ok.
Iain.

Have followed the instructions to the letter. When I try to open iTunes I
get a message:
The file ituneslibrary.itl can not be read because it was created by a
newer
version of iTunes.
The only option I am given is okay.
iTunes does not open when okay is clicked.
Can anyone help?

Sadly, that is the case. Doing some of this deleting will be
permanent. A system restore will be impossible. However, nothing
ventured and nothing gained and what you have isn't working so you can
mess up much more than that. Been there. Done that. ~Merrill

Thanks Merrill. Perhaps that was my problem as I didn't uninstall the
iPod,
only iTunes. I'll give it a go, nothing to lose now!
