Hi Anna,
Thanks. That's how I did my first playlist but I want to be able to customize
my playlist a little more than Rockbox allows. Although the suggestion you
described is a quick and painless way to create a playlist that shuffles
everything on the music player. Rockbox created a playlist called root.m3u and
grabbed music from every folder on my player.

Hi Michael,
When you open a folder, a playlist containing all the songs in that folder is
created automatically. Most of the time, that's all I do. I sometimes open a
folder that contains other folders, go to Playlist, and choose Insert or Insert
Shuffled. I have recursive directories turned on (from Playlist Options on the
General menu), so that a playlist of all the songs is created. This is how you
shuffle all the music in Rockbox, for example, or shuffle together all the
albums by a particular artist. Now that the file browser talks while music is
playing, it would be possible to create playlists by inserting files or folders
into the current playlist, but I've never done that.
HTH,
Anna
