Hi Sherry,
Here is from the NLS FAQ:
How many books are there?
As of September, 2007 there are over six thousand books available. This
number increases daily.

What books are being added?
NLS will add every new digital talking book that has met its quality
standards.

When are books added?
Books are added to the downloadable collection as soon as possible after
they are approved for addition to the general collection.

Why are some books from a series missing? Why are some magazine issues
missing?
While NLS always makes an effort to include complete book series, in many
cases some books in a series are not available in a digital form. Some of
these
will be converted from analog recordings when possible.

Magazine issues, like books, must meet NLS's strict quality control
standards. In some cases, individual issues can be held up by production
problems
that cause them not to meet these standards. NLS works with its magazine
producers to solve these problems as quickly as possible so the magazine
issue
can be posted to the web site.
There are currently 223 magazine issues starting in October 2006 to the
present.
When will the rest of the NLS magazines be added?
NLS will add new magazine titles periodically. We hope to have all current
audio titles available for download by the end of 2008.

How long will magazine issues be kept on the site?
At this time, NLS plans to keep magazine issues available indefinitely.
There are magazine issues from August and September but July had the most issues so here is the list:
July, 2007
People July 30, 2007
U.S. News & World Report July 23, 2007

I am curious - can someone tell me about how many books / magazines are
available for download? Are there thousands or just some of the newer
ones? Is NLS making all new titles available for download going forward?
Thanks.

Sherry
