Hi Folks,
Here is a new use for a portable player for blind US citizens.
The NLS Downloadable Book and Magazine Service is now ready at a Test-level
for NLS Patrons who meet the following qualifications.
You need to enroll and get a password to the site before using it to
download digital versions of audio books and magazines.
At this point, they do not want folks signing up if they're not going to be
able to make active use of the service. All of the following requirements
must be met.
Firstly, you must have a HumanWare Victor Reader Stream player or about to
get a player.
You can find out more about the Stream at,

Secondly, you need to have high-speed Internet access with an active e-mail
address.
And, of course, thirdly, you need to have an active account with your US
library and be qualified to receive books from the National Library Service
for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, the Library of Congress.
