I have Rockbox installed on an iPod nano, but for some reason it doesn't want
to talk. Any suggestions why?
Heath

  Hi Heath,

Rockbox can play unprotected AAC files ( the kind you get when you import CDs
into iTunes) as well as MP3. But if you use iTunes to transfer music to your
iPod, iTunes does not structure the music in a way that is logical for other
players - the filenames are nonsensical and the folder structure appears
random. I believe that Rockbox's tag cache feature can create a database that
includes songs transferred by iTunes as well as songs transferred by Windows
Explorer, but the Tag Cache option isn't as accessible as the file browser. So
you can use iTunes to import CDs using either MP3 or AAC, then use Windows
Explorer to transfer the files to the iPod using whatever file structure makes
sense to you. Then you can use Voicebox to create MP3 clips for the file and
folder names of everything you've transferred, and everything talks very nicely.

  HTH,
  Anna
