Hi Soniya,
You should install iTunes and the iPod software and register your iPod.
However, if it wants to update the iPod to the June 28 revision, don't do this
if you want to play protected content, like Audible books or iTunes music store
tracks, and run Rockbox at the same time. There is a bug, which I don't think
has been fixed, that means no content is playable if you're running the Apple
firmware and also have Rockbox on the iPod. It may be that your iPod is
already running the June 28 firmware; this is okay as long as you don't want to
play protected content.
Once you have iTunes installed and it's recognizing your iPod, open iTunes
with the iPod connected, go to Preferences at the bottom of the Edit menu, and
choose the iPod page in this multi-page dialog. Either set it to do everything
manually (no automatic updating) or enable disk use. Then the computer should
recognize the iPod as a drive. Also, in that box you can configure iTunes not
to come up when you plug in the iPod, which is probably what you'll want if
you're mostly using Rockbox.
Then check out the iPod links on the portable Players Portal (there's a link
to this at the bottom of every list message). You'll find links to the Rockbox
info you need. Be sure to take a look at the Rockbox manual for the Nano.
HTH,
Anna
