Hi Sunil
OK, here is definitive information I have found out due to me experimenting
at some length last night.

If you use iTunes consistently, you can add songs to the iPod. The next
time you plug it into the USB, although there apparently is some "updating"
going on which jaws confirmed to me when I used the scripts updating
reporting key, the songs I put on there originally were still available in
the list. So far, so good.

However, if you use Annapod or the rebuild file which we spoke about earlier
in the week to transfer files to the iPod Shuffle, then use iTunes, iTunes
takes preference and re-builds its database. Certainly with the rebuild
file, the iTunes database is obviously rebuilt and so when iTunes launches,
it obviously needs again to rebuild it as there may be things in there which
are not meant to be there. That is logical enough.

I hope that clarifies it.
