Hi
There are some instances where the scripts could be useful, but if you
are using Rockbox, you will not need iTunes for day to day usage.
1. If you want to purchase tracks from the iTunes music store.
2. If you want to check statistical information about your iPod. We
have a nice little utility which puts all the information into the
virtual viewer, such as the iPod capacity, how much space you have used,
what the serial number is, etc.
3. We now have the option to restore the iPod back to the factory
defaults.
4. You can check for iPod updates via a new feature.
5. You can enable disk usage mode which you would need to do for using
Rockbox. You could not do this in previous script versions on the new
iPod devices.

I my self am using Rockbox with the iPod video 80 gig. I would assume
that
the video could be used as well with iTunes and the jaws scripts?
