FreeLists / blindipod / [blindipod] a quick question aobut ipod and rockbox

Can I use my ipod on another computer , even though I don't have a folder on 
that computer for rockbox?  In other words, will another computer recognize the 
 ipod I have without me installing the ipod software on it first?  Can I still 
transfer music on that computer?  I have the ipod software that comes with the 
ipod installed on my computer at work where I will mostly b using the ipod, but 
I wanted to use it at home some too.  Can I do this?

Also, I noticed that one of my files had gaps in it while playing.  I read on 
the documentation this could happen, but didn't understand how to fix the 
problem.  It has something to do with the kind of mp3?  What is the best way to 
put CD tracks ont he ipod?  I've read all of the information on the different 
sites, but I feel that I'm still not clear.  Thanks.
