Hi,
The 512MB iPod Shuffle costs $99, and the 1 GB model costs $130 from the
Apple store; I believe you can get both models cheaper elsewhere. The
Shuffle has no screen, meaning all songs are in a single directory. You
can play them in order or mix them up; load entire albums, or automatically
load a random sampling of your whole music collection.
The other iPods have screens and let you organize music by artist, album,
and playlist. They are meant to hold your entire music collection or large
portions thereof. Because they hold so much more (anywhere from 3 GB to
80, I believe), it would be hard to locate what you want without seeing the
screen.
Also, the Shuffle uses flash memory, while the other iPods use a hard disk.
Cheers,
Anna
